Where does KILROY Foundation work?

The foundation has supported education projects in Argentina and Nepal, where continued support is carried out in South Africa. The Foundation also works on awarding grants to students and individuals, citizens of either Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, The Netherlands, Norway or Sweden

What are the KILROY Foundation Grants? 

KILROY Foundation awards grants worth €1500  to young individuals pursuing:

• Studies abroad
• Internship abroad
• Volunteer work abroad

Why Should I apply for a Grant? 

The intent of the Foundation is to help develop individuals and communities around the world through travel and education. We want young people to have the opportunity to discover and experience global diversity, minimize any form of prejudice and maximize interest and involvement in the global community. This we do through our KILROY Foundation Grant scheme – awarding grants to students and young individuals

Where does the money come from?

KILROY Foundation Grants are fully financed by funds donated by KILROY International

What is the difference between the Spring and Fall Grants? 

The Spring Grant application process is open to submissions between the 1st of February and 1st of July every year unless stated otherwise. Spring grants generally awarded late September each year

The Fall Grant application process is open to submissions between the 4th July and the 31st of October every year unless stated otherwise. Fall grants are awarded mid-January the following year

I am traveling abroad in the fall, can I still apply for the Spring Grants? 

Yes, you can apply for the Spring Grant to double your chances. However, your experience abroad has to start before the end of the following year from when the grant was awarded to you

I am traveling in the spring next year, can I apply for a Fall Grant the year before? 

Yes, you can apply for a Fall Grant to double your chances. However, your experience abroad has to start within one year after the grant was awarded to you

Do I have to travel to a developed country in order to be eligible for a grant?

No, you can be traveling anywhere, providing its due to study, internship and or volunteer work abroad

Do you only give grants to people who are or want to volunteer with the Foundation's current volunteer programs?

No, you are welcome to apply for a Foundation Grant irrespective of volunteer program you are affiliated with :-) 

Is there a minimum time that I have to be traveling in order to have a chance to receive a Grant?

No, you can be traveling anywhere from one week to one year...and you still have a chance to receive a grant

Regarding grant eligibility, can my volunteer program take place anywhere in the world?

Yes, we do not require you to be volunteering anywhere specific

Regarding grant eligibility, does my volunteer abroad need to be connected with education?

No, your volunteer topic/focus can be within any field
